What's in a Name

He pressed them, ‘And how about you? Who do you say I am?’
— Matthew 16:15 (MSG)

We live in a media driven world. Its opinion can be forced upon us at any given time, and it can influence our thought process if we aren’t careful. The views of a political party leader can become your view. A cause your favorite actor or actress is passionate about can become a cause you're passionate about. A news station’s agenda can change your outlook on your own community.

At the end of the day, what matters most is what you believe in after you have heard the opinions of others. In worship, we are led by a worship leader to give Jesus praise. We’re prompted on what to call Him and to say what He’s done that's worthy of praise. While this is a great start to worship, Jesus wants to know, who do you say He is—personally.

Proclaiming who Jesus is to you can help bring order to what otherwise may be a chaotic hour, day, or life. When you profess that Jesus is your strength you begin to focus on His power. When you call Him your provider you realize you’re not alone in difficult times.

Take time to call Jesus what He is to you right now and marvel in His greatness. It’ll change your view, passion, and outlook.

Jesus You are everything to me. I will worship You daily and praise Your holy name. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
— This is my prayer
