The Presence of the Lord

27th Psalm Series - Day 8

My heart says of you, “Seek his face!” Your face, LORD, I will seek.
— Psalm 27:8 (NIV)

God is omnipresent, which means He is always around everything and everyone. We can feel His power and His presence when we commune with His Holy Spirit. In this, He made a covenant with believers that He would be with us always, even until the end of age. Even though God is always with us, it is still important, as Christians, to seek the Lord’s face.

Presence is a translation for the Hebrew word face. When David writes that his heart says “Seek His face,” it means seek to be in the presence of God. Scripture also says in Luke 12:34, for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. As believers, it is not only important to know that God is always with us, but it is equally important we seek with our hearts to be with Him. When we intentionally seek the Lord’s face it changes our mindset, helps us move more in our purpose, and adds focus to our lives. God wants us to think about Him as much as He thinks about us.

The heart is smart

Lord, I will seek Your face in all I do. I want to be in Your presence always. Thank You for never leaving, nor forsaking me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
— This is my prayer
