Gifts and Callings

For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable [for He does not withdraw what He has given, nor does He change His mind about those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His call].
— Romans 11:29 (AMP)

There are a million reasons why we would want to return a gift someone gave to us. It doesn’t fit. It’s not the right color. You can’t use it. Maybe it’s just plain ol’ ugly. But when you consider the thought the giver put into the gift, it often makes it hard for you to discard it, and you may possibly find a use for it.

With God, returning a gift is not possible. Sure, the gift may not fit you in your current mindset and you may even think you can’t use it because of your past, but when God created you He created your purpose first. The gift you have will help you fulfill this purpose. No matter what you’ve done or where you have been, Jesus will not withdraw what He has given you or change His mind about you. If you feel there is sin blocking the use of your gift, ask Christ for forgiveness, forgive yourself, and answer your calling.

It’s the thought that counts

Heavenly Father, I thank You for gifting me according to my purpose. Thank You for not changing Your mind about me and loving me through my sinful nature. Please forgive me of my sin and use me for Your kingdom agenda. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
— This is my prayer
