The life of a pastor can be difficult at times. According to Dan Reiland, author of the book Shoulder to Shoulder, pastoring can be a very lonely and stress filled position. It’s common for pastors to love their congregations and to want what Christ wants for each member’s life - but, in order for the believers to get the blessing God wants for them, they have to catch the vision and accept direction He’s given the pastor of their church.
When God called Joshua to take Moses’ place after his death, Joshua was commanded by God to deliver His people. The people responded to Joshua with the words that every pastor in the world would love to hear: “Whatever you say we’ll do and wherever you send us we’ll go.” Just like Joshua, the things your pastor asks of you are for your benefit. When they request your regular attendance at church, prayer service, or bible study it’s for your benefit. When they ask you to tithe or evangelize it’s to pour out blessings toward you. Encourage your pastor and make their jobs a little easier by saying, “Yes!”
