Words Go a Long Way

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.
— Hebrews 10:24 (NIV)

You never know what a person is dealing with. On the outside, they may appear strong, focused, and have it altogether, but in reality they’re feeling defeated, depressed, discouraged, and ready to give up. Fortunately, God has given us the ability to strengthen one another in times like these.

Make it your choice to encourage and lift up everyone you encounter today. A simple pat on the back or saying “good job” will go a long way. God wants us to consider one another and encourage each other in love and good deeds. Don’t take it for granted that they’ve heard it all before. Tell others to keep up the good work, or how much you appreciate what they do. Tell your dad he’s a great father. Tell your friends you love them. Tell your children you’re proud of them. Tell your pastor he or she preached an awesome sermon. Your words not only give life, but can also improve life.

Pass it on

Heavenly Father, thank You for encouraging me to consider others. I will use my words to spur my brothers and sisters on toward love and good deeds. Give me the insight to say the words that will give and improve life. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
— This is my prayer
