Come and Talk to Me

If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother.

Most confusion between people could be prevented if we’d just talked to one another. There have been times people were upset with me because of something they heard or thought I said. They thought everything I did afterwards was toward them or to irritate them further, but all the while, I had no idea they were upset with me! After a short and simple conversation, there was no more confusion, and a new relationship was birthed.

Facebook, Twitter, and other social media are not the place to discuss issues you have with a person. This may be a popular choice with the world, but God instructs believers to talk to one another – alone. If you’re too upset, give yourself a day or two to calm down so your words will be heard and productive. It’s in God’s nature to create and build, while destruction is of the devil. So before you let your thoughts fester and grow, have a conversation. It’s always better to gain a friend than to lose one.
