Good Company

Blessed [fortunate, prosperous, and favored by God] is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked [following their advice and example], Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit [down to rest] in the seat of scoffers (ridiculers).
— Psalm 1:1 (AMP)

It’s mind boggling how a conversation can easily influence you against your better judgment if you’re not careful. It’s rare that Satan will use a stranger when trying to persuade you against God’s word. He tends to use your close friend, family member, or even your favorite television show when you least expect it. God wants you to be aware of the company you keep.

Make sure you surround yourself with people who uplift you and give you good advice that ultimately make you a better person. The words of good company will confirm what God has already spoken to your heart – not go against it. Don’t join in with gossip or follow the crowd. Be the change agent that Christ called you to be, even if it means changing your own way of thinking. It may be hard, but don’t worry if your list of friends becomes shorter as you change for the better. God will place good people in your life to help build you up, not destroy you.

Watch what you walk, stand, or sit in

Heavenly Father, thank You for the godly people You’ve placed in my life. I will seek the advice of those that use Your word and walk in Your ways. Thank You for Your direction and favoring me with Your fortune, prosperity, and endless blessings. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
— This is my prayer
