Push Your Buttons

Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.

Do you know some people that know exactly the right (or wrong) thing to say or do to push your buttons and make you lose your mind? I’m sure you do. At these times, you have to rely on the strength of the Holy Spirit and not your own. Why? Because it would be too easy to say or do what you would like to in retaliation to what just offended you. But remember, you know right from wrong. You know what God wants you to do. So, trust me, it’s best to rely on the Holy Spirit and not yourself.

If you know the right thing to do, but you don’t do it, that’s sin. It doesn’t matter what the other person did to you or said to you. It’s not about them. It’s about your relationship with Christ. He wants you to talk for Him. He wants you to walk for Him. He wants you to live for Him. And you can’t do that if you let everyone and everything push your buttons. Stay encouraged. Keep God’s word in your mouth and in your heart. It’s so much better than filling it with hate, revenge, and unforgiveness.

Don’t give up control

Heavenly Father, thank You for teaching me and showing me what I ought to do when my buttons are pushed. I will continue to talk for You, walk for You, and live for You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
