We experienced some nasty weather this week. On the drive to work early morning, I crossed a bridge. Believe it or not, I actually was not speeding this time. As I approached the middle of the bridge, my car slid across the dividing line into the other lane. Without thinking, I said, “Oh my God!” as I quickly regain control of the car. Luckily there was no oncoming traffic. When I approached the stop sign ahead, I thought for a second about my verbal reflexes and the words that came out of my mouth.

When trouble hits you, what comes from your mouth? When chaos ensues, what are your first thoughts? I suggest what comes out of you is a direct result of what you put in you, what you subject to your hearing and what you allow through your eye gate. Watch what you allow into your spirit. What you allow in will eventually govern your heart, your thoughts, and your actions. Fill your mind, heart, and spirit with God’s word so that in the moment, when it counts, Christ will speak through you and for you.
