“The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”
I was always a bit of a scaredy cat. I would never look forward to Halloween because my brothers would always go to haunted houses. I hated haunted houses, but I hated being left out even more! The only way I survived these dreadful places was because my brothers were with me. One would be in front of me and the other behind me. I was safe. I thought, “What can these monsters do to me with all this protection I have?” as I closed my eyes, buried my head, and ran through the scary noises. (And if you tell anyone about this, I’ll just deny it!)

Life can be scary too, but you don’t have to worry about what its monsters can do to you because the Lord is with you. He’s in front of you, behind you and all around you! They may try to give you a hard time at work, but you can say, “He’s with me.” The doctor may give you some news you don’t like, don’t stress, but say, “He’s with me.” You may not know what’s ahead for you, but you can know you’re safe today by confessing, “He’s with me.” You have nothing to be afraid of. The Lord is always with you and He will see you through this too.
