Wake Up Jesus

But soon a fierce storm came up. High waves were breaking into the boat, and it began to fill with water.
Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke him up, shouting, ‘Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?’
— MARK 4:37, 38 (NLT)

In today’s scripture we find Jesus crossing a lake with His disciples after teaching four parables to multitudes of people. Jesus was asleep in the back of the boat when a fierce storm hit. Winds and waves tossed the boat to the point it became full and the disciples thought they were going to drown. Still, Jesus was asleep. It took the disciples to awake Him before Jesus responded to the storm they were in and told the waves, “Silence! Be still!” Then the storm stopped, and scripture says there was a great calm.

The storm you’re facing today may be tossing you all around. You feel like you’re drowning. Issues just keep pouring in on you. One thing after the other. Doggone 2020! But your storm doesn’t stress Jesus and He doesn’t care what year it is. He cares when you call on His name. If you need to experience a great calm in your life, call on the name of Jesus. Heart’s been broken? Call Jesus. Problems in your family? Call Jesus. Feeling discouraged? Call Jesus. There’s power in the name of Jesus to silence you storm. Christ isn’t bothered by your storm and neither should you be. Wake Jesus up and let Him speak to you about your storm.

Peace! Be still!
