On Your Behalf

People may cover their hatred with pleasant words, but they’re deceiving you. They pretend to be kind, but don’t believe them. Their hearts are full of many evils. While their hatred may be concealed by trickery, their wrongdoing will be exposed in public. If you set a trap for others, you will get caught in it yourself. If you roll a boulder down on others, it will crush you instead.
— PROVERBS 26:24 – 27 (NLT)

The word of God speaks to every situation we experience. It gives us hope in our times of despair. It encourages us when we feel defeated. It reminds us the reward the righteous will receive when we obey God’s word and it also speaks to people who practice evil, lying, trickery and wrongdoing. It would seem that anyone who knew God would be scared straight from doing others wrong, oppressing a people or planning traps for fear of what God will do to them, but evil doesn’t fear God. It only seeks itself.

When people deceive you, hurt you, and plan traps for you, they probably think, “Ha ha! I got them!” but the evil that fills their heart isn’t allowing them to think about what God is going to do on your behalf. This is why you can continue to exhale when people wrong you. You know that the battle is not yours. It’s the Lords. You don’t have to jump on social media for vindication. God said their wrongdoing will be exposed in public and God has more Facebook friends than you. You don’t have to worry about the trap evil set for you. God said they will get caught in it and crushed by the very weapon they formed against you. God will continue to protect you. Have faith. Leave your situation in His hand and keeping doing His Word in the face of evil so Jesus can work on your behalf.

Heavenly Father, thank You for protecting me from those who deceive me, hurt me and plan traps for me. You will expose them. The trap they set for me will be the trap they are caught it. Thank You for fighting my battles, Lord. Thank You for Your Word, Your love, Your strength. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
