Walk on Water

So Jesus said, ‘Come.’ And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, ‘Lord, save me!’ And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, ‘O you of little faith, why did you doubt?’ And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.

This past week I experienced an event that shook my entire life. It left me and my family beyond hurt, pained, and feeling helpless. Every word of encouragement I have ever shared with you through my daily devotionals, I had to remember, lean on and depend on. Satan really, really tried to distract me from focusing on Jesus and wanted me to run with his agenda instead, but if I did that, I sink instead of walk on water.

My friend, when you’re hurt, pained or feeling helpless, do not take your focus off Jesus. The winds around you may blow and the waves of life may try to toss you, but keep your focus on Jesus. And if by chance you do lose focus and begin to sink, cry out to Christ, “Lord, save me!” and immediately Jesus will stretch His hand out to you and rescue you. Have faith. Don’t doubt what you know to be true about God. The wicked will not win. Evil doers will not succeed. Keep walking on water with Jesus and don’t allow your storm to make you lose focus of Him.

Heavenly Father, this storm I’m in is rough, but You are with me. I am keeping my focus on You to continue walking on water and not allow my storm to cause me to sink. I am in You hand, Lord. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
