Stamp of Approval

Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.
— GALATIANS 1:10 (NIV)

Living for the approval of people can lead you into a world of trouble. It can make you waste hours of time picking out the perfect outfit only to sit in a dark movie theater. It can make you purchase a car you really cannot afford just to receive nods of approval from people who don’t even like you. Trying to win the approval of others can be stressful, disappointing and tiring. More importantly, it will make you forget whose approval you really should be seeking.

Only what’s done for Christ will last. And while what Jesus may request of you may not always be the most popular thing at the time, it is the most blessed. This is the stamp of approval you want. You want to hear the Lord say, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.” Seek to please Jesus and not people. Learn what makes God smile and do “that.” Serve the Lord in every capacity possible. And with His stamp of approval, you will inherit the approval of others.

Heavenly Father, I seek to please You and not others. I am Your servant, Lord. I long for Your stamp of approval. Speak to my heart, Lord, and fill me with what makes You happy! In Jesus’ name. Amen.
