Surrounded

As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.
— PROVERBS 27:17 (NIV)

As of January 1, 2020, I gave up eating all meat. Red meat, chicken meat, fish meat – all of it. The decision was made as a result of my wife’s advice for years, a recent health scare and a documentary I watched on a popular streaming site. Initially, I thought I’d go without meat for a week to see how it’d go. To my amazement, it was so easy that I kept going. We ate non-meat meals together – my allergies subsided, snoring decreased, health increased, weight dropped, energy level improved – I feel great! I thought I would miss chicken wings. I don’t. I thought it’d be hard. It’s not. I learned from and observed people doing what I wanted to accomplish, and it became possible for me.

As believers, we need to strengthen one another in areas we’re weak. Instead of venturing out on our own and not experiencing the godly success we strive for, we must learn to lean and depend on our brothers and sisters who have achieved that which we want to accomplish. If we want to learn to forgive, we must surround ourselves with those who practice forgiveness, not gossipers. To get out of debt, ask those who are not in debt. Surround ourselves with positive people and those doing what we want to accomplish and the seemingly impossible will become possible for you!
