SPEAK UP

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed. Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless, and see that they get justice.
— PROVERBS 31:8 - 9 (NLT)

The world has advanced in numerous categories, but in each one of those categories, there’s room to grow. Technology has bridged the communication gap around the world, yet some inner-city classrooms have no computers for children. Organic farms and chemical free produce are becoming the norm, yet millions of families go to bed hungry each night. Glass ceilings are being shattered, but there are still many under-represented and without a voice. It is up to followers of Christ to speak up for those who cannot speak up for themselves.

Social injustice is not just a black problem or white problem. It’s an ungodly problem. It can be overcome when those who love God and believe in Christ speak up whenever they see injustices or the poor and helpless being crushed. And please, do not regulate poor to wealth or helplessness to handicaps. Many are poor in spirit. Many are equipped yet rendered helpless. Racism can be driven out of our nation. Homelessness can be eradicated.  Hate can be a thing of our past. But it all starts with all of us believers speaking up and leading others to a new day.

Speak. Now.

Heavenly Father, I choose to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves and ensure justice for those being crushed. Yes, I will speak up for the poor and helpless, and see that they get justice. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
