“‘For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,’ says the LORD. ‘For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.’”
If God thought like us, it’d be a lot of people in trouble. Why? Because any given day of the week, people try to test us! They take our kindness for weakness. They try to walk over us and treat us any old kind of way because they know we just read a scripture that told us to forgive. But you know, if we had our way, we’d make some of those people magically disappear. We’d make them regret ever trying to test us or come against. So, thank God His thoughts and ways are higher than ours.

It’s not impossible for you to have higher thoughts. It really comes down to a decision. You have to make the decision before the test. You have to make the decision before they talk bad about you or try to treat you poorly. You have to make the decision to have higher thoughts and higher ways. Make the decision to grow closer and closer with God each day. And a sure way to do that is to have practice having higher thoughts. Think of God’s mercy towards you, then you can have mercy towards others. Remember how Jesus blessed those that cursed Him, then you can bless others. It may be hard, but just remember, you always have a choice. Choose His thoughts and His ways.
