“All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.”
In today’s scripture we learn that God is the source of all comfort. When we experience rough times and difficult situations, we know that He will comfort us in all our troubles. God’s plan in our trouble is that we have faith that He is in control, trust Him and mature spiritually as He guides us to our next level of growth in life. And while our trouble teaches us lessons in life, Jesus also wants to teach us a lesson in comforting others.

Do you remember how you felt when Jesus comforted you in your time of trouble, abandonment or fear? That’s the same way Christ wants you to help someone else feel. You have experienced this example of comfort many times. You know God’s love. You know how it feels to have Jesus smile on you. You have been blessed with the ability to give others the same comfort God has given you. God called you the light of the world. Use your light to brighten someone’s darkened time and comfort them using the spirit of the Lord.
