Ever notice how more respected advice is when it comes from someone you know is an expert in the subject they’re advising you in? It’s easier to accept their words when you know they’re speaking from their own successful experience. You wouldn’t accept financial advice from someone who’s always borrowing money from you, right? No! You’d listen to someone you know to have overcome their debt and are on track to financial freedom. You can relate to this person. They give you the confidence that if they did it, you can do it too!

This is why Jesus stepped down from glory into flesh. He wanted you to be able to relate to Him and understand if He faced testings of this world, and didn’t sin, then you can too. Jesus was hungry, but He didn’t sin. Jesus was tempted by Satan, but He didn’t sin. Jesus didn’t want to bear the cross, but He didn’t sin. Find courage and strength in knowing Jesus understands your weaknesses. He sees you. He did it too. And if He did it, surely with Christ sitting at the righthand of the Father, and with the power of the Holy Spirit, you can do it too! Find your strength in Christ.
