Our Daily Bread

Give us this day our daily bread.
— MATTHEW 6:11 (NKJV)

What God has for you, is for you. You don’t have to think or wonder if God’s blessings are in short supply. Before you were born, He had already prepared every blessing you would need to become all He created you to be. You don’t have to keep up with the Joneses or become jealous while witnessing others getting blessed around you. That’s for them! Rejoice knowing that if others are getting blessed near you, that means God is in your neighborhood and you’re next.

If you can count your blessings, you’re probably missing the most important ones. Jesus blesses you daily. It’s easy to note the rare monumental, breakthrough blessings. You know, like, the new job, the new car, the new house, the all-inclusive vacations, kids graduating high school and accepted to the college of their choice. When you glance over the blessing that Christ woke you up this morning, you may miss your daily bread. When you take for granted you made it home safely last night, you may miss your daily bread. When it goes unnoticed that you have more in your refrigerator than baking soda and ice, you may miss your daily bread. There are no small blessings in God. Each one is more than enough. When you praise Jesus for one blessing, He will pour you out a blessing that you won’t have room enough to receive.

You are blessed!
