Stay Humble My Friend

Let someone else praise you, and not your own mouth; an outsider, and not your own lips.
— PROVERBS 27:2 (NIV)

People are capable of doing some extraordinary things. The endless use of technology and resources have tremendously improved our way of living. Healthy suggestions and ways to introduce nutrients to our diets help enhance our energy, memory and other bodily attributes. Computers allow us to blaze creative paths we hadn’t been able to journey before. We are able to earn livings, do what was thought to be impossible and achieve greatness, but never forget where these abilities come from.

When you understand what you are able to accomplish comes from God working through you, you won’t have a desire to boast about yourself. You know it’s not you, but the Jesus in you. You won’t have to strut around praising yourself saying, “Look what I did” or “I’m better than you.” That’s not of Christ. Staying humble is of Christ. Knowing you can’t do anything without God is of Christ. In your humble state, God will shine His light upon you to cause others to appreciate you, praise you, and promote you. You won’t have to toot your own horn! Stay humble my friend and let someone else praise you.

God sees you

Heavenly Father, I will let someone else praise me for the work that You do through me and not my own mouth. I will not use my lips to praise myself, but instead to lift You up. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
