How Was Your Weekend?

I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes…
— ROMANS 1:16a (NKJV)

When I return to work Monday morning, it’s pretty much a guarantee that more than one person is going to ask me, “Van! How was your weekend?” I normally respond with, “It was fine. How was yours?” and normally their answer is of greater detail than mine. “I killed two deer over on my neighbor’s lot. He lets me hunt there.” “I took my grandkids to see Frozen 2 and they loved it!” One time, a guy cooked BBQ and brought some in for me to try. “Van, you’ve got to try these ribs I smoked! I even made my own sauce!” It made me wonder… How come I never say, “I went to church and the message was life changing!”

Don’t hesitate to share the goodness of the Gospel. Look for ways to bring up in conversation how good God is and what Christ has done for you. As a believer, you have been given the greatest privilege one could have: to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others. You have the ability to usher in change to someone’s life by introducing them to Christ. I know it may be difficult to talk about Jesus at work or school, but if they ask, that gives you free reign to share! Don’t be ashamed to tell others what you did this weekend. It could change someone’s life and yours!

I have a story to tell
