“Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when His glory is revealed.”
Why does bad things happen to good people? While trying to enjoy a Lions game with family and friends, someone is breaking into your car. While trying to train up your child in the way they should go, someone else doesn’t value their life the same. It seems like something strange is happening to our world. Young people dying too soon. Sickness is spreading at super speeds. Seems like no one cares anymore. About nothing!

Don’t be caught off guard my friend. Jesus warned these days were coming. These days are to test you, your strength in the Lord and your faith in God. When something strange happens in your life, remember Christ has already prepared you for it. Yes, it’s going to hurt and yes, it will be painful, but with Christ, you will not be consumed. In Jesus, there is no death. In Christ there is no lost. In the Holy Spirit there is no confusion. Just as you suffer in Christ you will be overjoyed and able to rejoice all the more when His glory is revealed in you. Stay strong in the Lord, not on your own. Lean and depend on your Heavenly Father and not your own understanding. God’s got this. And He’s got you.
