Teach Regardless

These, then, are the things you should teach. Encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you.
— TITUS 2:15 (NIV)

The world is constantly changing. Family values aren’t the same, morality is low and church attendance is steadily declining.  Everyone is busy living their own lives and trying their best to stay afloat. Not much time goes into pouring what we know into the lives of those coming after us. It’s a dog-eat-dog world and a “I got mine, get yours” type mentality is rapidly spreading. One way to defeat these trends that are overtaking our society is to teach what the Word of God says regardless of what the world thinks.

Some traditions are great to pass down. I’m not talking about the ones grandma taught about not taking a shower while it’s thundering and lightening outside, but the ones she taught when she told you to say, “Yes, ma’am” and “Thank you, sir” aren’t bad places to start. Teach regardless of a world that doesn’t support worshiping Christ every Sunday and not just showing up Easter and Mother’s Day. Teach regardless of disrespectful and hateful individuals that can’t love others as they love themselves. Whatever you’ve learned of God’s Word, these are things you should teach. No matter if the world despises you, teach others to pray, teach others to love God, teach others to give, teach others to consider others, and above all, teach others to follow Christ by your holy example.

Heavenly Father, You empowered me to make disciples. I’m sorry for not doing my part. I will teach of You regardless of what the world does or think. You are what the world needs. Use me, Lord. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
