You’re going to hear broken promises from politicians. You’re going to hear misleading information from commercials. You’re going to hear about products designed to improve your life, but only decrease your bank account. You’re going to hear bad advice from loved ones. And you know what? It’s just life. It comes at you from all different directions. But if you’re not careful to stay on guard, some of the “stuff” you’re hearing might start to sound good.

Christ has given you a pattern for sound teaching full of faith and love. What you have heard and learned from His word, guard in your heart and mind with the help of the Holy Spirit. This way, when you hear “stuff” the world offers you, you can compare it with the word of GOD and determine if it is for you or against you. Does the political promise align with scripture? Is that infomercial supported by what Christ said He wants for you? Is that advice you’re receiving godly advice? Stay on guard and be aware of what you allow in your spirit. Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you and be careful what you let in.
