I recently pulled out my old gym bag and laced up my basketball shoes to run a couple games with some friends. I hadn’t played in quite some time, but I swear I didn’t lose a step on the basketball court. We’d won a few games, but I noticed that a number of my jump shot attempts weren’t going in. One of my teammates told me during a break to bend my knees and elevate a little higher. And do you know, that little correction helped improve my jump shots?

You too can be a good teammate in Christ. When you see someone struggling in life with sin, don’t just watch them, but encourage them to elevate a little higher and restore that person gently. When someone is caught in sin you don’t have to broadcast announce it. Pull them to the side, tell them you know they can do better and that you’re willing to help them do better. You’ll find blessings in restoring others from their sin rather than standing by watching sin prevent them from achieving greatness.
