Get Over It

Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.
— ROMANS 15:7 (NIV)

We all have a past. We all have some chapters in our book of life we aren’t proud of. At times, we compare our wrongdoing with the wrongdoings of others and think, “Well, I ain’t that bad” or “At least I didn’t do that.” It’s like an imaginary scale where we weigh sin to make ourselves feel better. The thing is, sin is sin to Christ. If we’ve broken one law, we’ve broken them all. Therefore, that puts us on the same sinful scale we cast others away on. But, if Christ can accept us, maybe it’s time we get over it too!

You don’t have to look very far. There are hurting people around you every day that want nothing more but to be accepted and loved. The ex-con who wants a second chance at an honest life. The former prostitute who decided to look for love in Jesus instead of the streets. The divorcee who asked GOD for forgiveness, but can’t find it amongst friends. The drug addict who’s clean, but not clean enough for some church folk. Get over it! They too are GOD’s people. They need to witness Christ’s love through you. Bring praise to GOD by accepting one another as Christ accepted you. You never know the blessings you may unlock.

Heavenly Father, thank You for forgiving me of my sin and accepting me. I will accept others just as you have accepted me in order to bring praise to GOD! In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
