“This is what the LORD says—your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: ‘I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.’”
Proverbs 14:12 says, “There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.” That passage reminds me of all the shortcuts I took in life thinking I knew it all. Every time I used one of those shortcuts trying to get ahead, trying to get over or just plain short of patience, something died. I thought I could say anything and get away with it: a relationship died. I thought I could do what I wanted to do, the way I wanted to: an opportunity died. It was GOD’s way of telling me to just do it His way because He knew what was best for me and knows the direction I should go.

Instead of going your own way about things and causing death to show up in your life, go to GOD in prayer and get direction. Listen to what He tells you and even when you don’t understand why, can’t see it, or think it’s the long way, just do it! Trust that the Lord, your GOD, knows what’s best for you and will direct you in the way you should go. Don’t waste your time trying to figure it out without Christ. James said, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” Don’t second guess GOD. Don’t be afraid of how He directs you. Just do it!
