Why Me?

Consider Him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
— HEBREWS 12:3 (NIV)

Being saved isn’t going to prevent you from experiencing tough times. Being a believer isn’t going to make you immune from heartache or pain. It is written that you will receive blessings when sacrifices are made to do the work of Christ, but along with those blessings will come persecution.

When things aren’t going your way and they just seem to keep piling up on you, instead of thinking “Why me?” think to yourself, “Why not me?” Jesus was perfect and He suffered persecution. He endured the opposition of sinners and continued to do what He was purposed to do. So, I want to encourage you today to not grow weary or lose heart in the face of opposition. When people hate on you or try to impede your success and happiness, remember that you’re in godly territory. People don’t hate on people who aren’t doing anything. People wouldn’t try to come against you unless you were successful. The next time you think, “Why me?” remember the answer is because GOD chose you!
