Free From They

For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended.
— ROMANS 13:3 (NIV)

They” get a lot of misplaced blame at times. Don’t get me wrong, “They” do exist, but a lot of times, if we stay in control, “They” wouldn’t exist! What are you talking about, Van? C’mon, you know what I’m talking about! They! The They we complain about all the time! The They that’s always out to get us! “They giving me a hard time at work!” “They always gossiping about me!” “They say I owe this in back taxes.”  They pop up in our lives a lot, but we can limit the terror and power of They if we stay in control and practice doing right.

They may not give you such a hard time at work if you’d show up on time, do your job and not worry what everybody else is doing. They may not talk about you so much if you didn’t tell your business on Facebook 24/7. They wouldn’t come after you if you’d pay your taxes instead of listening to Wesley Snipes. The next time They give you problems, make sure you didn’t give yourself a problem. Make sure you’re in the right lane doing the right things. If it checks out that They are just being who They are, then remember They have no power over your GOD who makes your enemy your footstool. Stay in control and keep doing the right thing regardless of what They do. It is then that GOD will commend you and free you from They that have authority.

Stay in control

Heavenly Father, rulers hold not terror over me because I do what’s right. I am free from fear of They in authority. My enemies are my footstool. No weapon formed against me shall prosper. Thank You for blessing me and commending me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
