Power Over Circumstances

And those He predestined, He also called; those He called, He also justified; those He justified, He also glorified.
— ROMANS 8:30 (NIV)

About an hour ago, I decided to stop feeling sorry for myself. Yep! I was in the middle of a pity party. I was thinking about how things weren’t going my way, how I could use a financial increase, how some people were just getting on my next to last nerve and then I got an email. I was just talking to my wife about how I need this issue rectified and over with when the email appeared in my inbox doing JUST what I wanted. Then it dawned on me! I’m focusing on the wrong thing!

I have a Heavenly Father and nothing is impossible for Him. He’s given me power over my circumstances. I was spending too much time focused on what was happening around me and not focused on me. My situations can always change. My health. My finances. My relationships. My job. However, one thing remains constant in all those situations: who I am. I am predestined by God for greatness. I am called by God to do great things. I am justified and glorified by God. And though mistakes will be made and every day won’t be balls of sunshine, I am always who God predestined, called, justified, and glorified... and so are you!

You’ve always had it!
