Other Things To Do

But your many enemies will become like fine dust, the ruthless hordes like blown chaff. Suddenly, in an instant, the LORD Almighty will come with thunder and earthquake and great noise, with windstorm and tempest and flames of a devouring fire.
— ISAIAH 29:5 – 6 (NIV)

How much of your time is consumed by thinking about your enemy? Do you find yourself wondering what they are saying about you? Do you stress over thinking what they might do to you? What they’ve done to you in the past? Whatever amount of time you devote to your enemy is too much and I assure you, my friend, you have other things to do.

The time you devote to thinking about your enemies plan for you should be devoted to accepting God’s plan for you. As a believer, know that God will take care of your enemies – past, present, and future. Make your interaction with your enemy to be only one of forgiveness. Retaliation, war of words or fist to cuffs are only waste of your time. You have other things to do. Other things like setting and reaching new goals. Praying for your family, your friends, your church and your enemies. Working on perfecting your spiritual gift. Studying. Exploring ways of how to be a blessing to others. It’s a million and one other things you could be doing than allowing your thoughts to be consumed by your enemy.

Heavenly Father, thank You for taking care of my enemies so I can focus more on Your plan for me. You have given me other things to do that are for You and of You. Help me to remove any negative thoughts from my spirit and replace them with a spirit and mind of You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
