Picture That!

Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.
— ISAIAH 43:18 (NIV)

Thank you all for the awesome feedback shared from Friday’s devotional Collaborate With Your Spirit. It was pulled from a YouTube video, To Reach Beyond Your Limits By Training Your Mind, my wife showed me. The main idea was to collaborate with your brain by doing these four things:

  • Tell your mind what you want and be very descriptive.
  • Associate pleasure with what you want to accomplish and pain with staying the same.
  • Change the picture in your mind and see yourself reaching your goal.
  • Make the unfamiliar familiar.

So let’s dive deeper into each idea this week as it relates to the spirit

  • Change the picture in your mind and see yourself reaching your goal.

Marcus Garvey once said, “If you have no confidence, you are twice defeated in the race of life.” Like any race, you have to picture yourself winning. See yourself breaking the tape at the finishing line and raising that huge trophy above your head as the crowd cheers. Can you see it? Feels good, right? In order to fill your spirit with this notion, you will have to forget some things in your past. Don’t dwell on them. Learn from them. Picture yourself trying a new way and succeeding in reaching your goal. Just because one way didn’t work, doesn’t mean the 2nd, 3rd, 4th won’t. The important thing is that you change the current picture you have of yourself and see a new you. A better you. A successful you – in everything you do. Nothing is impossible for you.

Heavenly Father, I have decided to forget the former things that are holding me back and not to dwell on the past. Instead, I choose to picture myself victorious and successful in all I try and do. Nothing is impossible for me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
— This is my prayer
