Accept the Gift

God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.
— 2 CORINTHIANS 5:21 (NIV)

Today, Believers celebrate Good Friday. Over 2,000 years ago, Jesus was led to Calvary to die for our sin so that through Him we might become the righteousness of God. Christ was the perfect gift. He had no sin, yet He was the bridge over sin for us to receive salvation.

The first thing you do when someone gives you a gift is accept it. You no longer have to hold on to your sin. Death no longer has its sting. When Christ died, He took all of your sin with Him. When He was resurrected, the wounds He bore, the pain He endured was no more, much like your sin. He left that part of His life behind, just like you should leave your mistakes behind. Today, ask God for forgiveness of your sin, repent, and start living your new life today. Christ didn’t die for nothing. He died for you. Accept the gift and tell God, “Thank you!”

Thank you, Lord!

Heavenly Father, while I was yet a sinner, You died for me so that I may become the righteousness of God. I accept the gift of life You’ve given me. Thank you, Lord, for dying for my sin that I may live with You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
