Grow In Salvation

Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.
— 1 PETER 2:2 – 3 (NIV)

Nothing makes sacrifice and hard work worth it than seeing and experiencing progress. Paying down your credit cards early is painful, but it helps when you see more money in your pocket and your credit score increase. Working out at 4:30 AM is a struggle, but getting that beach body you’ve always wanted and your health in order are great incentives. Once you begin to reap the benefits and see how much better life is through your commitment, it’s often easy to keep improving and growing more and more.

Sometimes it can be a struggle to study Word daily, pray without ceasing, and attend worship, bible study and prayer service regularly. Some of us say it’s hard to do without even trying first! However, if you make the commitment to do these things and grow up in your salvation, you’ll begin to see how good the Lord is. As you make the sacrifice to become closer to God, you’ll want to learn more about Him and reap the benefits of doing so. The voids in your life will become filled once you have tasted and seen for yourself how good the Lord is. It’s a short-term sacrifice for an everlasting reward.

Heavenly Father, I will take the first step toward knowing you more. I have tasted of You and know You are good! I will continue to grow in my salvation as I strive to become more like You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
