“This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.”
Every spirit isn’t the Holy Spirit. There are plenty of other spirits in the world that can portray and make you think you’re among the spirit of the living God, but they eventually fall short. It’s important as believers we are equipped and prepared when we encounter such spirits. We have to be able to recognize the difference and not allow demonic spirits to influence our spirits, minds, and lives.

Scripture warns us concerning the spirit of the antichrist. It even tells us that it is already in the world so be aware of its tricks. If you need a cheat sheet to identify the differences in these two spirits, remember that the Holy Spirit brings life and the spirit of the antichrist breeds destruction. If your actions or actions you are witnessing destroys relationships, hates, or causes confusion, that is not a spirit of Christ. The spirit of Christ is one of love, forgiveness and compassion. It seeks to inspire, heal and grow, not steal, kill or destroy. Recognize what spirit influences you and is around you daily and acknowledge the power of the Holy Spirit.
