Run For Joy

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before Him He endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
— HEBREWS 12:1, 2 (NIV)

Everyone needs motivation or a positive word every once in a while. It’d be nice to hear, “Great job on that project!” or “You’re doing a really good parenting job.” but what about those times when those words never greet our ears? What about those times Satan creeps in and says the opposite of what Christ says about us? Responsibilities can become heavy, daunting and seemingly impossible. In these times, we need to remember the joy set before us and get rid of anything that hinders us from obtaining that joy!

You read about successful people. They may surround you at work, your community or church. You’re no different! You too can achieve great success! Throw off that mindset that tells you, you can’t, you won’t and you don’t. The world can be hard enough on its own. You don’t need to add baggage. Once you get rid of that nonsense, you can run with perseverance and complete the race Christ has placed before you. Keep your eyes on the joy and goal set before you and don’t focus on the struggle and pain you have to surpass to get there. All you need to remember is that you were built for this and can do it! No matter the task. No matter how old you are. No matter what. This is your time. Run!

The race is not given to the swift…
