Difficult Decisions

Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.
— GALATIANS 1:10 (NIV)

As a believer, not everyone will always like your decisions. Your family may not understand why you do the things you need to do or your friends may not like the changes you’re making to become more Christ-like. I can repeat today’s focus scripture to you all day, but let’s be honest, we sometimes need the approval of others, we want people to agree with us, and we want to please those we care about.

Living for God is not always easy. You’re going to have to make some difficult decisions. It may mean leaving a job you’ve worked ten years to answer a call from God. It could be letting go of a friendship that pulls you an opposite direction than what Jesus has for you. Making these decisions is a true exercise of your faith in Christ. You have to believe that whatever you give up or let go for Christ He will give back to you better than it was before. In your difficult decisions, seek the approval of God first, and He will give you more favor in heaven and on earth than you’ve ever experienced!

Heavenly Father, I am trying to win Your approval. I am Your servant. I have faith that whatever I give up or let go to follow You, You will return to me better than it was before. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
