NOT PERFECT

We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check.
— JAMES 3:2 (NIV)

Everyone makes mistakes. Some bigger than others. Some no one but God knows about. The point is neither one of us are perfect. And Jesus knows this. While we were yet sinners, Christ still died for you and me. That means He loves us. He loves us for who we are, not what we do.

Remember that you are a human being, not a human-doing. Try not to be so hard on yourself when you make mistakes. God will forgive you if you confess your sin to Him, so that’s not the problem. The problem is when you don’t forgive yourself. The more you remind yourself of what happened in your past, the less likely you are to see what God has for you in your right now. Jesus wants better for you, but you’re going to have to want better for yourself. Recognize your mistake. Acknowledge how you went wrong. Repent today and move forward. You’re not perfect, and God loves you just the way He made you. Let Jesus help you see what He sees.

Heavenly Father, I know I have made plenty mistakes. I am not perfect, but in Your hand, I am perfect in how You created me. Forgive me for my sin. I choose to forgive myself and move forward in Your plan for my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
