List of Commandments

I will hasten and not delay to obey your commands.
— PSALM 119:60 (NIV)

I really like “To Do” list. They help me organize my life and prioritize my tasks. “To Do” lists also give me a sense of completion and accomplishment. When I look at my list and I’m able to check an item off as complete or cross a task as done, I really feel rewarded and proud that my list is that much shorter. If I can feel good about accomplishing a list of things to do that I created, imagine the feeling of completing and chipping away at God’s list of commands!

I challenge you today to do a self-evaluation over your life referencing biblical commands that God has called you to obey as a believer. Create a “To Do” list using three of God’s commandments that you feel you need to obey or could improve on. Your list can pull from The Ten Commandments, God’s command to tithe, or Jesus’s command to love one another – whichever you choose. As you hasten to obey God’s command and not delay to cross each off your list, you should feel accomplished and closer to God. Along with this feeling, your life will become more organized and priorities will fall in place as God blesses you from obeying His commands one check mark at a time.

Make a list. Check it twice.
