Be All That You Can Be

Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble.
— 1 PETER 3:8 (NIV)

We are all rushing to “be.” We are trying to “be” somewhere on time. We are trying to “be” more successful. We may be trying to “be” healthier with our choices of foods. We may even be trying to “be” someone’s significant other. While we may enjoy some success in our endeavors, we have to remember to build on a strong and established foundation before we “be” anything.

Before you try to “be” anything else, BE what Jesus wants you to be. When you strive to be what Christ has already called you, whatever you ask in the Father’s name will be done for you. In your planning, be like-minded with Christ. In your daily dealings with the human race, be sympathetic and be loving towards one another. In your spirit, be compassionate and be humble. While you are being what God wants you to be, others may see your actions as a sign of weakness. Don’t allow them to steer you off course. Instead of losing your ground by retaliating against the demonic spirit that influences them, witness God’s protection and promotion above your enemy. He’ll take care of you and them! You keep focusing on being all that you can be.
