Transformational Thinking Series: LET

Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus…
— PHILIPPIANS 2:5 (NKJV)

(My Fulfillment Hour Class (Sunday School) is revisiting Battlefield of the Mind by Joyce Meyer. One of our exercises was to find scriptures that provide example of what the Christian mindset should be. Over the course of this week, I will share my findings of a few scriptures that I pray will transform our thinking.)

When you want to go shopping, you think about the store you’re going to, get in your car, and you go. When you think about going to your friend’s get together this weekend, you think about what to wear, how long you need to get ready, and you go. I want to suggest today that just as you can make the decisions above, you can make the decision to have the mind of Christ.

Today’s scripture uses a significant word: Let. The word let indicates that you already have the ability to do something, you just have to do it. Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let us set aside the sin that so easily ensnares us. Let this mind be in you which is also in Christ Jesus. Once you decide you have the ability to do as scripture suggest and make the choice to change your mindset, you’ll see that you can let yourself do the impossible.

Heavenly Father, thank You for giving me the ability to do all things. It starts with my thinking and I have decided to let this mind be in me which is also in Christ Jesus. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
