Kept Safe

Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe.
— PROVERBS 29:25 (NIV)

Either I’ve been blessed as a parent or kids seem to have been a little bit crueler in my day. Kids teased each other constantly. It could be because of what clothes you wore or the condition of your family’s car. They’d find something to talk about you for. My mom used to say it didn’t matter what other people thought about me, but only what she thought about me. I didn’t have to fear or concern myself about what others said because they didn’t love me, care for me, were there when I needed someone, fed me when I was hungry, or bought the clothes they were talking about. If an earthly parent can keep you safe from bullies and enemies, how much safer can God keep you?

Trust that the Lord will keep you safe. It is He that loves you. It is He that cares and provides for you. It’s your enemy's job to make you grow closer to God. The more they tell you you can’t, the more you rely on Christ’s strength that says you can. You don’t have to fear what man can say or do to you. Remember what the role of your enemy is in your life and the fact that you don’t have to fear them. Place your trust in the Lord and you’ll be kept safe.

Heavenly Father, I will not fear what man can say or do to me. I place my entire trust in You and know I will be kept safe. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
