Deeds of the Heart

‘I the LORD search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.’
— JEREMIAH 17:10 (NIV)

Ever hear someone say, “I love everybody?” In my opinion, that’s kinda hard to claim. I believe to love someone we have to show them love and in order to do that, we have to have contact with them or be situated near them. Jesus commands us to love our neighbor as ourselves and this kind of love can only be given through our conduct and deeds.

While “I love everybody” is a nice, peace-filled sentiment, God searches your heart and examines your mind to reward you based on your conduct and according to what your deeds deserve. How often are you kind to others? How often do you show compassion to those you encounter?  Are you a blessing to others or do you look to be blessed? The love in your heart will influence the thoughts of your mind that become your actions and based on these actions God will reward you for the deeds of your heart. Try loving someone today through your deeds!
