Call His Name

…For, Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
— ROMANS 10:13 (NIV)

Romans 10:9 is the go to scripture to receive salvation. We probably have recited it several times and helped usher several souls to Christ. While verse nine is specifically for new converts, I like to believe verse thirteen is for both new converts and those of us who have been saved for a little while.

I believe if you call on the name of the Lord, He will save you from whatever you’re going through. I use verse thirteen when I’m stuck in traffic. I use verse thirteen when people are getting on my nerves just to see if they can get on my nerves. I use verse thirteen when both of my kids call me at the same time from different rooms. I use verse thirteen when I lose hope, when I don’t know, when I’m lonely, when I’m tempted, when I feel blessed or sick, when I need strength or encouragement. There’s power in calling His name! Take time today, better yet, stop right now, and call His name. See if your circumstance changes. See if your soul fills with joy. Call the name that is above every name…
