HAVE HOPE

For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.
— ROMANS 15:4 (NIV)

It was no mistake how Jesus was introduced to this earth and into our hearts. God could have chosen a wealthy woman who lived in a palace to bear his son, but He didn’t. He desired His son to live a life the people He came to save could relate to.

Jesus came from a low-income family. Jesus had a friend that betrayed Him. Jesus was hungry.  Jesus was lied on. Jesus felt forsaken. Jesus was not appreciated. Jesus was told He wasn’t who God said He was. Jesus was not always welcomed. Just was blamed for something He didn’t do. Jesus wept. Jesus was treated unfairly. Jesus was beaten.  BUT, in all this, Jesus had God. Jesus loved His enemies. Jesus did the impossible. Jesus sacrificed. Jesus showed compassion. Jesus is King of Kings. Jesus is Lord of Lords. Jesus is a child of God. Jesus can do all things. Jesus has all power. Jesus defeated Satan. Everything written of Christ in the past is to teach you endurance and encourage you to have hope today. You are of God and greater things you will do because Christ has gone to be with the Father. Everything you’re going through, Christ experienced and more. And He made it. So can you. Have hope.

Can you relate?

Heavenly Father, thank You for giving me Your only Son as a sacrifice and example. Because of Him, I can have endurance in my situation and be encouraged as I hope to tomorrow. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
