GOD'S INSTRUMENT

But now, O LORD, You are our Father, We are the clay, and You our potter; And all of us are the work of Your hand.
— ISAIAH 64:8 (NIV)

(I apologize for not sending out daily devotionals the past couple of days. I had an emergency eye procedure and am on the road to recovery. Thank you everyone for your prayers, thoughts, and those that contacted me via email asking “Where’s my devotional?!” Smile – I really appreciate that!)

I was watching one of my favorite television shows during my road to recovery. The star of the show was working in his office. In the background, he heard the faint noise of a guitar playing. This was a strange sound for a work setting, so he got up to investigate. He followed the sound to his boss’s office to find him playing a guitar. (Here’s my “God Moment.”) As he listened to his boss play the guitar, the star of the show told him, “You sound good!” He didn’t say the guitar sounds good, but rather the person playing the instrument correctly.

You too are an instrument, but you don’t sound good when you are in the wrong person’s hand. You were created to be used by God and in His hand is where you will maximize your true potential and create a beautiful soundtrack for your life. God knows exactly how to use you because He created you for a specific sound (purpose). In His hand, you don’t have to worry about being misused or abused. Being His most prized instrument, He will protect you and treasure you. If you ever feel out of tune in life, make sure you’re not allowing the wrong people to play you.

You can’t be plucked

Heavenly Father, I am Your instrument You created for a specific purpose. I am the work of Your hand and everything You create is perfect! Use me, Lord. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
