“How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand— when I awake, I am still with you.”
I had an interesting conversation during open gym with a friend. We were talking about how “big” God is and how there’s no sense in question Him as God. He spoke about how God can wake you up in the middle of the night with an epiphany. I spoke about how He gives boundaries to the waters of the beaches to stop “there” and come no further. We both collaborated on His vast knowledge of how He holds our future and we can’t remember what we ate two days ago! We shared the same wonder how God is able to not only keep us while we played basketball, but also our families at home, in Detroit and Chicago, and people all around the world.
Isn’t it beyond wonderful knowing that YOU are in His thoughts? As busy as God is, He’s still mindful of you. While you’re driving, He’s protecting you. While you’re asleep, He’s watching over you. When you forget Him, He still loves you. In your wrongdoing, He’s still working everything out for your good. When God allows the sun to rise and commands it to set, each day, He’s thinking about you. You are very important to Him and He loves you so much. If you need a reason to smile today, think about the precious thoughts that our sovereign and loving God has toward you.
