I'M TELLING!

Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another—showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to live God’s way.
— 2 TIMOTHY 3:16 (MSG)

You know what? You never know how much you really know until you tell someone what you know. At your job or in school, you can sometimes get stuck in the routine of going, doing what’s required, and watching the second hand tick until it’s time to go. You may start to think what you do or learn is mundane and insignificant. It’s not until you train someone and explain what you do or have learned you begin to realize how much you know and have done with the knowledge you’ve gained over time.

Likewise, we can sometimes forget the power we’ve gained from learning God’s word. We fall into the routine of going to church or bible study, and can forget what we’ve learned when we don’t share with someone else. When we hear God’s word, it should always show us a truth, expose our rebellion, correct our mistake, and/or train us to live God’s way.

Today, I want to do a little experiment with you. In three or more sentences, reply to this devotional in the comment section explaining the last thing you learned during church service, bible study, Sunday school, or personal study and let’s see how explaining to me what you've learned not only blesses me, but blesses you as well. My example is below where our daily prayer usually is…

Ready, set, … tell it!

In bible study, we have started a series using Rick Warren’s book “Purpose Driven Life.” This Wednesday we discussed the 5 common motivations that drive people in life. I discovered that “resentment and anger” is the one I identify with: letting go of the hurt and moving on. The scripture I am focusing on to help me with that is Matthew 6:15.
