GOOD VERSUS EVIL

‘Don’t be afraid,’ the prophet answered. ‘Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.’
— 2 KINGS 6:16 (NIV)

In these dark times across our country, I am reminded of 2 Chronicles 7:14 which says, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” In the wake of mass shootings, absenteeism from elected leadership, and widespread social injustice, we as believers must continue to exercise our faith and provide light where there is darkness.

You may feel outnumbered or surrounded by evil. After all, it’s broadcasted wherever you turn, but don’t lose heart and don’t be afraid. There are more prayer warriors and believers of Jesus Christ standing with you in this battle of good versus evil than those standing against you. In these times, continue to rejoice always, pray continually, and give thanks in all circumstances. For this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not treat prophecies with contempt, but test them all.  Hold on to what is good and reject every kind of evil.

Prayer. Faith. Action.

Heavenly Father, I will not be afraid during these dark times across our country. You have sent more of Your people to pray, stand, and take action according to Your will and to defeat evil. Please bless those in their time of loss and heal every broken heart and family. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
